EXPEDITION OVERVIEW

What is Coast Around Tasmania?

A Jetski trip around Tasmania started as an idea between two friends, Adam Benz & Shane Ridley, who wanted to go on an epic adventure before they turned 40.

Now over 4 1/2 years in the planning, and with Shane’s son Josh on the journey, Coast Around Tasmania aims to showcase the spectacular Tasmanian coastline, capture all the trials & tribulations an expedition of this magnitude will offer whilst highlighting the amazing work that Lifeline provides in the community around suicide prevention and awareness.

Starting in February 2022 with the voyage from Queensland, the team be driving to Melbourne to catch the Spirit of Tasmania to Devonport with Jetskis in tow.  They’ll then travel to Hobart which will be the start/finish point for the expedition.

Making their way anticlockwise, the team will ride an average of 170km per day for 9-days (not including weather lay-days) for a total of 1500km, covering some of the most spectacular coastlines Australia has to offer. Each evening the riders will be pulling into port to rest and recharge for the day ahead with the help of the road support team.

THE CAUSE

Raising Awareness For Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Issues

Through the Coast Around Tasmania initiative, our joint efforts will work towards breaking down stigmas while raising awareness about mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and other mood disorders which often lead people into thoughts of self-harm or ending life prematurely altogether.

With the support of Lifeline Australia, we’re on a mission to point a spotlight on these complex social issues.
